    XR10 / FF4 Comp Gator

No pictures yet, but I ordered a set of XR10 axles tonight. I am planning on using my FF4 chassis and delrin links. The only other thing I will need is a motor and punk dig. Pictures to come soon.

Should be interesting, can't wait to see it. I ordered some 3/16 and 5/16 delrin today. I still have a 5"section of 3/8.

I wouldn't bother with the VP bushings... All you need to do is put a little lock tight around the bearing seated in the motor plate and let it dry before you put it back together and that solves the issue. If you want to larger bearings the VP Motorplate comes with 2 10mm and 1 9mm bearing if I remeber correctly and they are only $20 a plate. i did see that Axial is comming out with a new motor plate that's sealed on the outside which might be the better rout to go. As for me the lock tight has held just fine and I'm not going to install the VP motor plates till the stock bearings fail... I want to run this out as long as it can to settle some of the skepticism on RCC.

Motors, I'm running 2 Venom 55T Modified motors
the stock 14t pinions With your 45T on 3C I would probly run an 11T Pinion in front and 10T pinion in the rear.

How do you plan on running your DIG?

I need to do some research on the bearings, but thanks for the tip on loc-tite. I will try the 11T and 10T combo first. What do you mean by how am I planning on running my dig?

i think the bushing mod is essential if you are running stock cases, after rebuilding my axles and seeing how tiny the bearings are, i think failure is somthing that will happen, and when that happens it takes gears with it. my axles had about 40 packs through them without failure, but I do not wanna spend a fortune in repairs later. just my 2 cents

bushing mod is simple, you open the gear boxes and replace all the bearings with the bushings. as simple as opening it up and putting it back together. I had never opened up a xr10 axle before i did it, i just made sure i had the manual handy to follow te rebuild casue i get confused easily!
