    Honcho / JK conversion

I really have to give the credit to Wes on this one. Without his help I would have been lost. Here are some pics of the fun we had tearing it down to the frame and the rebuild. Now I have to give some details and get it in paint.

got the electronics in and drove it around today. I wanted to put everything in a WP box but looks like I will have to stick with the old balloon trick until I find a box that will work. The mamba Max is 1 1/2 inches tall and the box I got was onlt 1in tall. :x

Green is my favorite color, but I am liking the blue. Went and bought paints for the interior going with a light gray and Model Master 2915 French Blue for the exterior. I did not realize how much detail the interior had, this is going to take some time.

id say try n fig out a way to mount it to the tubes in the rear this way you can run with the top on or off and still have the rack on it

If it were a real jeep, the basket would be over the front part of the roof since it's not removable. That way you don't have to lift the basket of if you want to go topless in the summer.

Do me a favor and don't put unrealistic stuff in the basket. saw one guy who put a rifle up there for "scale" points. No one would ever carry a rifle in the roof basket.

    Re: Honcho / JK conversion

I like your idea about mounting to the rear topper. I know it may not be 100% realistic, but it gives you the option to change up the look. It also allows you to run it with a lower clearance if needed. You might lose the scale points, but it might be worth it in certain circumstances. Besides, if you can remove the rack that means you can then run your shiny yellow canoe.

Glad to hear the electronics are back in it. Can't wait to see it when you get the color on. I really think the blue with grey interior will be awesome. When I get back from CO we need to get out for some action photos.
