    MRC Overdrive front pinion (dig-it)

searching and I found this interesting tid-bit. This pinion will fit and increase the wheel speed of just the front giving you a type of dig.

Re: MRC Overdrive front pinion (dig-it)

Did the mod, it was really easy, no shimming required. Took it for a spin around the house and didn't notice too much of a diference in the drive but if you hold it up you can see that the front tires definantly spin faster than the rear. It was a quick and cheep mod.

I am liking this now, also crawler mafia on RCC is working on an underdrive for the rear. Then it will turn very tight.

I like your MRC Pro, one thing you will want to do is flip your rear lowers, they should go up towards the chassis. Those wheels look great who makes them VP?? I was running a full size Hitec 7945 but had to put it on my 2.2 now running a Hitec 645 as a temporary fix. You should try to make it out to a comp sometime.

I run the rear lowers flat, not up or down to protect the third and the drive shaft ends. I run the full size HiTec servo and it is great. Yeah, Steve at VP is a great guy to work with and their products work well for me.

Does the stock locking diff fit inside this ring or did you have to get a new locking diff to do this mod?

you only use the pinion not the ring. What are you running? if it is the MRC Pro it should have metal lockers, if it is a stock MRC it has plastic and they are trash and will die a very quick death if you comp the rig.

o yea. that makes sense. guess i didn't read the first post correctly. you said pinion. not ring and pinion. sorry bout that. i do not have a pro and i am currently in the process of buying metal diff lockers as i am typing this.

I am cody btw. i was at the comp on sunday at green lane with the blue MRC that has the ring and pinion problems. I didn't comp but i had a great time hanging out and meeting everyone and of course crawling. I plan to keep coming as long as the work schedule allows it. and watching the 2.2s of course made me wanna start a new build.

I know GSRC has a comp this weekend. can i just show up and run or do i have to register somehow with them first?
