    Stripped Grub screw on driveshaft

    ok how do I get this pain in the A$$ out? Tried heating it with a soldering iron, no go. Do I drill it out? any help would be great.

    If it's a 3 mmgrub carefully drill it with a 2.4 mm bit. If the bit doesn't spin it out use a 2.5 mm screw in that hole and as you force it through the grub will break free and you should be able to get it out that way and leave the threads intact. Worse case. Get a 3mm bit and tap set and redo the hole.

    Use a 1/16" hex, apply a little pressure and should slide right in. If that doesn't work, then drill it out (works 98% of the time).

    I decided to replace all my set screws with button head where possible. With a larger allen tool, you can get more torque on them. That means they hold better and come of easier. You can even loc-tite them and not wory about them backing out. The downside is it looks like crap to have a big button head sticking off your driveshaft and sometimes ther isn't room.

    Maybe try a reverse twist drill bit, it might catch and then extract the screw
