    Dodge Project

I know some of you have seen this before:

Figured it was about time I shared my scx-10 based Dodge scaler. Its a work in progress that I couldn't help but get out and run it before it was done.

I wanted to do some tube work, but the new job and moving threw a wrench into my time to play. I did get it waterproofed and my son and I took it out around the camp ground to play.

I have another body that will get painted and then I will make some fender flares and a roll bar with lights. I plan to put full lights on it. For now it's just water proofed and gear to go pretty quick. Using it for bashing mostly.

    Re: Dodge Project

So the old lid was all scratched up and cut up in a lot of places. Also the wheel wells were chopped to fit 2.2 tires. So I got a new 2002 Dodge truck body. Same as the old one. Painted it a slightly darker shade of gray, and got it mounted it up. Next I need to fab up some fender flares and I want to do some inner fender as well. I am trying to figure out how to do the roll bar like I want. I am also thing of doing a tonnoue cover. I have to get all my LEDs soldered and mounted up too.

Nice job, what tires are running? I recently ordered the Two Face 1.9s. I hope they will be there when I get back from the shore.

I am running the 1.9 flatirons. It came with the 2.2 flatirons on it when I bought, but I sold them to jslick It was a heck of crawler with the 2.2s on it. I was keeping up with Adams Venom (before he super modded it). Now I use the scaler for playing in the mud. I waterproofed it and use it for playing. I put in a 27t with like a 24 tooth pinion. I can do donuts with it and if I roll over I just nail the throttle and flip it back up on it wheels.

I still have to figure out a roll bar and get my lights soldered back up (I ripped one off). Then I have to figure out how to make some fender flares. I was thinking of useing Tiger hair from AutoZone or something. I will hand shape them, then sand paint and screw them on. I wanted my body mounted with something other then the clips but couldn't figure out how.

I used velcro to mount my body. It holds really well.

    new lid looks good.

Thanks I was trying to decide if I wanted to use a thin sharpie to make the door lines and stuff. I have seen it done before and sometimes it adds realism and sometimes it looks cheesy.
