    2014 Sportsman Build

My LCC has been treating me well since 2011 but I wanted to try an axial based sportsman.
I have been collecting parts for a bit and I will be rep'n several of them in this build.

I picked up a set of axles from Crawllife with the Creationfab tubes and modified goodies and Crawlin Calvin arms.

Of course I can never leave anything alone so I tore them apart and contacted LOCKED UP RC for some thing to make it more reliable.

I have never run over and underdrive gears in a rig before.
I picked up two LOCKED UP RC FI Spools and mated them up to the Axial ring gears.

Like I said I can't leave well enough alone so I tore two transmissions apart and swapped some things around. I am not overly concerned about having a "lightweight" sportsman. I am concerned about having a dependable one. I dropped in the Robinson Racing gearset into the tranz and applied some VP grease.

For the time being a 27T EPIC motor and to get the power to the axles good old MIP Beef.

For the shocks I'll be running Big Bores, I still need to pick up some mini-t springs and spring cups for them.

I am not sure what ESC I'll be running yet I have two BRXL's that were on my MOA rig and a micro sidewinder sitting around. The chassis will be a TURBO TECH Prodigy Chassis and I will try out the new Holmes servos. Paint and body are in the works.

I am hoping to have this all done by the Northeast National Qualifier.

My daughter yesterday said that she would like to come out and try a comp out. I'll let her drive is since it is fairly sturdy.

Perfect rig to get her started on. That would be cool! We might get a few younger ones out there this year. My girlfriends little brother wants to try it out too. Time to start getting the younger ones involved.
