NEED THE CLUBS THOUGHTS: Title sponsor for the Northeast National Qualifier

I was contacted by a company that was interested in being the title sponsor for the NENQ. So instead of Eastern Pennsylvania RC Crawlers presents The Northeast National Qualifier it would be _____________ presents the Northeast National Quialifier. I am torn on the idea. I would be nice to have a big sponsor, on the other hand we put a lot of work into the event and I feel we deserve the credit for it not a company. What are your thoughts, what would the company have to donate to the event to be the title sponsor.

Here are the sponsor levels for this year.

    NENQ 2014 Sponsor Info.

I think with the amount of work we have put into it, it would be nice to keep our name in there. If we do choose to go with a title sponsor, I would say they would have to donate quite a hefty something.

my experience with sponsors is ......be careful and do not let your organization loose its identity due to somebody buying it from you ..... i would say let em donate....keep control of your event give the some advertising where ever you can but dont forget what you are selling them... they clearly see you as being able to provide interested eyes to whatever they do...... make em pay for it and

What does the title sponsor have to throw on the table other than their name?

I have no major problems with adding a title sponsor to the name. I just dont want to have the clubs name bootoed off the page. I also dont want the sponsor to have a huge section for their name and our clubname squished down at the bottom. I am ok with this as long as we get equal or close to equal billing as the sponsor. If they dont like that we can certainly do it without them. It is proven that this is the case. Perhaps you can get some more info from them on having an equal billing to the event. What would that be worth to them. It could be something like "NENQ Presented by _________ and EPA Crawlers" or vice versa.

pretty much what Wes said, you guys put all that work into something and should have the club name on there. It helps to promote the club also, if its just the sponsor then the no one hears about the club.

I work for Sodexo a global corp, they are going to sponsor my class one rig. I asked my boss if he would be interested in sponsoring a truck he asked how much i wanted. We came to an agreement so im going to logo out my rig; i get some cash to finish the truck! win win probably do a write up that will get passed on to the company newsletter who knows what will come of it but our account will get some press within the company.

I do however agree that the platinum sponsor should not overshadow the club. ie. EPARC is proud to partner with XYZ corp to present the NENQ

Working for the school Sodexo throws money at various school fundraising events and the result is whatever promo material says: the school is proud to partner with ... and a list of all the sponsors starting with biggest donors at the top, also with the largest logo.

If they are the title sponsor,do they pay the bill to have the NENQ? Which would basically double a platinum sponsor..

As long as EPA stays on the top and in control of the event, they just want to throw money around and be seen, then I don't see a down side to letting them do it up. Help kick the event around for more to see.

It seems like, this year is goin to be Huge and ppl are interested to be there and want to comp. Maybe keep it to the club this year and let a title sponsor have a bigger spot next year?

    Just throwing thoughts out there...

John, does any of this get the club closer to bein recognized as a national level club?
