Calderwood Design & Fabrication XR10 upper link mount

Over the winter I have been working on a DD chassis for next season. I contacted Sam at CDF about his XR10 G10 Upper Link Mounts. I am glad that he will be offering this. I know that the demand is still out there for a product just like this. First off the machine work, fit and finish of the product is beautiful. I have never used anything made from G10 before. I really like how simple it was to install over the stock XR upperlink. I chose to test out the V2 first, I like the adjustibility of the mount.

The only tweaking I had to do was cut down a plastic Axial ball to fit between the two outer tabs.

The 10 composite layers should be plenty strong.

Can't forget the CDF rings for the DE wheels.

I will be testing both versions of the links mounts. I am waiting on some new smashed brminis in a week or so.

    More to come.

That's a very slick, no pun intended, design. I couldn't imagine all the fun I would have with machine shop tools! I would use a Delrin or aluminum spacer instead of the ball though. You can pick up all sizes of spacers at most local hardware stores.

I know it it kind of ghetto fab with the ball ends, I really wanted to get it together. The plastic axial balls are really light and do the job for now.
