    Now were talking. i have been wanting to run more scale comps but only have 2 wraiths and my sons scx10, which is bone stock so this idea is perfect. Plus i feel i can get away more this year on weekends and want to learn to judge.

    Hey what's the big deal with judging......obviously I have no experience in it but it seems to me your handed guidelines you watch the driving and you mark accordingly......am I missing something....it doesn't sound like a big deal......or is it?

    its not really, just a matter of knowing the rules and what to look for. i have never judged an rc comp, but have done a couple full size comps in the past.

    Judging really couldn't be easier with the club.. members call out their own reverses or gates as they drive(most of the times) or other members watching call them out.. besides, fresh judges will never be left alone judging, until they re ready..

    Its cool to see you guys up and ready to jump into judging! I actually find course building more difficult/nerve racking..

    I'm in for some running a wraith on some scale courses, myself..

    Judging is not hard or a big deal, the issue has been that people would rather stand around shooting the breeze than stepping up. People interesting in judging and building courses would be matched up with an experienced judge. They would keep time and observe, after a couple of courses they could give it a shot.

    Like Troy said usually the drivers will help out and call what they did; however that is not their responsibility. We try to keep two judges on course, one is the time keeper and the other one the score keeper. The time keeper keeps time and calls out the penalties, the score keeper writes them down and tallies up the drivers score at the end.

    Here is a rough copy of the proposed changes for 2014 EPARCCrawler Scale Season

    This proposal will need to be voted on at a future date.

    2014 inclusion of an OPEN CLASS for new drivers that run the Deadbolt, Ridgecrest and Wraith.

    The OPEN CLASS will run on the Class 2 courses.

    Class 1 and Class 2 and OPEN CLASS will be broken into seperate divisions; Adventurer and Trail Ready.

    If an Adventurer driver wins 5 times in a season they will move up to the Trail Ready level.

    Each division (ADVENTURER and TRAIL READY) in the classes would be determined by the scale points you run.
    The points listed below would be the 1/2 point tally using the SORRCA rules.
    EPARCCrawler addendums will apply.

    Box Stock-15 scale points (ADVENTURER)
    16-30 Scale Points (TRAIL READY)

    MAX Scale Points 30

    Scoring:

    1st =0 points
    2nd =1point
    3rd=2 points
    4th=3 points
    5th=4 points
    6th=5 points
    7th=6 points
    8th=7 points
    DNS=10 points

    The lowest point total at the end of the 9 comps would be the series winner.

    The series is broken up into Spring(3)/Summer(3)/Fall(3) (9 comps in all)

    Changing the the scoring to this method would be much more competitive and the season scores would be much closer.

    There will be two drop comp. scores at the end of the season. Drivers will drop their two worst scores.

    Rational:

    • Inclusion of an OPEN CLASS including of Deadbolt, Wraith and Ridgecrest is to promote the growth of the hobby and interest in the competition aspect of scale RC.

    • Breaking the scale classes into divisions will cater to the new comers just starting out and the experienced drivers alike.

    • Drivers will be challenged on their current levels of experience and ability of their rigs.

    Class 1
    Adventurer

    Trail Ready

    Class 2
    Adventurer

    Trail Ready

    Open Class 1.9/2.2
    Wraith, Deadbolt, Ridgecrest

    Adventurer

    Trail Ready
