first RC. this MRC pro a good choice?

I'm looking to get into RC cars, mostly for playing with at the trailer but the woods is full of boulders and the crawlers caught my eye. after looking at the sizes and the costs the losi MRC stood out. this is a Losi Mini Rock Crawler Pro that someone is selling on RCC. he hasn't put it up in the sales section yet. I'm kind of tossed up between this one for starter crawling or trying to find a deal on the twin hammers. has a bit more speed, reviews talk about it being an ok crawler.

this is from the seller "it has vanquish front rims with slug weights. HH motor, fully upgraded axles, fully upgraded trany, MIP cvd's, MIP drive lines, hitech servo with BEC direct to servo, HPI rover tires (front sidewalls have been shaved), bent lower links front and back and a brand new Castle micro esc still in box. I can get the esc hooked up and programed for you so all you will need to do is add your battery, radio and reciver. this rig is built and is pretty much bullet proof. have well over $550 into it and ill let it go for $250. I may have another stock losi 2.4 radio and reciver if need for an additional $40"

We still have a few of these in our club. Problem is, like so many others, they are not sold new any longer. Tons of parts still available, but they seem to be losing interest from a bunch of guys. I really enjoy driving mine!

how does it look cost wise? I have nothing and know nothing about RC cars. told the guy it all looked like gibberish but I'd find some advice on if it was a good deal.

1/10 scale is very popular just depends if you want a scale crawler or a competition crawler

I been watching youtube for about 2 weeks trying to decide what I like, it just comes down to, for the most part they are out of my price range.

for the most part I'm looking for something to run in the woods. the woods I have access to have a large number of boulders, some barley sticking out of the ground. most sticking up between 6-18" there are a few that are bigger then I am. there are no path, for the first 20-30 feet its nothing but boulders and trees growing between them.

the xr10 would work size wise, its just way more then I have to spend (unless they tend to sell really cheap used and ready to go) the other axials are just to big to deal with at the campground. there is not much storage in the trailer let alone storage that will keep the little ones away from it. the twin hammers is still 1/10 like most of the axials, but like the xr and the lcc its lower profile makes me believe I'll be able to stick it on a shelf somewhere. it just looks like it sits alittle to low to the ground and the lack of the straight front axle has me abit worried.

anyways... 300-350 (which has gone up from 100-150 then 200-250 lol) is my price range for a car, but that needs to include the radio battery and charger. the twin hammers new is just out of my budget and I don;t think I can really go any higher.

Like I said in the PM on RCC, go with the SCX10, or the twin hammers. I really like the SCX10, I think it will cover everything you want. You can buy them RTR and they work well out of the box.

I second that on the SCX10 comment. Good fun for the dollar.

alright I'll look into them more closely (stop at the local shop for the 5th time in 2 weeks to fondle the stuff on the shelf) they have one of the jeep ones there that I know if, the thing just looked to big to be kept inside of a trailer with little storage and little kids. should be back in the trailer this weekend, will try and find a place to store it though I know I would prefer a new body and to lower the body somehow with out lowering the ground clearance.
