Quick update. This thing is working good at this point. The scew mod in the rear axle is holding up very well still and I like the fact that I don't have to be so "careful" now. The wheels had some weight to them when I first got them, but I read the Mantis likes weight so last week I added more. I ended up with each front wheel weighing almost one pound and the rears weighing around 11 oz. with tires and foams mounted up. At first I didn't like the idea of having them so heavy and after running it that way, I didn't like it. I was going off research I did seeing that most guys are running between 5 and 6 oz. in the front of their Mantis. I quickly realized the same guys are running wheels that weigh 2 oz. each never thinking about that I checked mine and they weigh 4 oz. each. DOH!

So apart with the wheels once again. After some number crunching and smoke from the old brain, I came up with my front wheels (alone) weighing 7.5oz. and I left the rear wheels without any weight at 4oz. (alone). No feather weight by any means, but that's not exactly what I am going for. I did a little more work on the Rover's sidewalls to soften them up a bit and put it all back together.

I think it will work well this way. I have read that the Mantis likes weight, but definitely not as much as I had in the wheels. A bit of wheel time and I will know for sure.

You will like the wheels clapped like that. They really fold up and grab when needed. as long as your foams are good the side hill is not effected much.

Got some fresh CI's in them. Had the tires mildly shaved before, but decided to go all the way. I love the look also.

Got a little bit of video with the new setup before it started raining earlier. I think it's gonna work well the way it is. So far I'm happy with the results. 3 oz. lighter makes a world of difference with this chassis. Don't mind the second video. I was driving with one hand and trying not to trip. Just wanted a little running video.

It's a local spot underneath a bridge. One of my favorite around here and this is the milder side. I'll snap a couple of pics of the other side when I go out later.
