Nothing major to add here. Had a great time at the Qualifier and managed to win myself a set of gold dot Voodoos. Thanks Team Ottsix for making it possible. I've been wanting to try these tires and was stoked about winning them. They are very sticky and very well designed.

Now I have seen these run without any cutting and they work well, but I just can't leave well enough alone. I'm a firm believer in cutting pins to try and achieve a little extra bite. After some staring (literally 30 minutes) at a tire I came up with this.

Stock tire on right. Cut tire on left. This pattern will occupy the front end.

Again stock tire on right. Cut tire on left. This pattern will be out back.

I am anxious to see how these tires work on the DD. I've got one tire mounted temporarily to test fit foams. It contains a CI 5.5" narrow closed cell inner with medium outers and a medium tuning ring. It feels good to me, but I am waiting on some 6" narrow inners as I think a taller closed cell in these will be the way to go.

I ran 5.5 and med outer for the Qualifier, I did not have enough time to test the 6in foams and golds.

Ok so I finally got around to mounting up the Voodoos now that the new foams came. Crawler Innovations 5.5" standard inners with medium outers up front and firm outers out back. While I totally commend what Eddie at CI is doing with advancements in foams, the new style standard foams are wide and you can no longer get the narrow. With that said, I've never had such a pain in the A** time mounting tires until now, but they are mounted.

So here's the DD sitting on it's new rubber.

First thoughts........liking the new stance. The ride height didn't go up too much so I'm happy. Now to test them a bit in the basement.

Here's a little area I like to try out setups quick. I know it doesn't look like much, but remember, it's "painted" concrete. So basically slicker than most rock I'll ever crawl. It's not by any means always a cake walk to get up just those two steps in the intended path chosen. White dot Rovers and Red dot Blocks will do it, but with a little work of course.

The Voodoos however...............well they are just impressive so far just on this little set of steps. A little bit of slip, but slow everything down a little and they just grip, grip, grip. I'm looking forward to getting them on some real rocks. With what I noticed on these steps, they are gonna be great.
