Today I scored one of these GI Joe Jeeps for free!
I think it would make a sick class 3 rig. It's pretty heavy and just needs some axles and leaf springs. ANyone got some for sale?

That would be fun to build. What is the width and wheelbase?
Why do I care where Waldo is?

Aren't these kinda big for any class. It would be a fun build though. I remember seeing one at an SVSC comp a few years ago. I think stock SCX-10 axles fit, at least like a stock Jeep.
Aren't 1/18 scale rigs silly in class 1?seems there are no scale rules other then tire sizes. So if I went 2.2with it, it could be class 3.

I've had one for years. Been through many changes. I can say it doesn't look good unless it's running 2.2's and big ones at that. Mine has boggers on it and it is real fun but not competitive in class 3 in any way but i'm in it for fun so that doesn't matter much to me. It does make a good trail truck though.
Here is the build thread: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/2-2-s...y-revival.html
Walt (Bigski) from SVSC has one as well. His has much more detail and works better in my opinion. I say just go for it and have fun.
you still have this thing? saw you put it up on the block on rcc...
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered...I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs." -Thomas Jefferson
