Custom class 3 VW Bug Scaler

I like scaling much more then regular crawlers, so I decided to turn my 2.2 comp rig into a class 3 scaler. I am taking a Losi Comp Crawler, and fully converting it to a custom tuber Beetle. So far it's turning out pretty good. Tomorrow I will being adding the shock mounts and skid mounts and it should be about done. Maybe some tweaking.

    Enough Talk, Pix!!

    Taking this:

and making it a full tuber. Going to be heavier, but cooler!

And all of that was just tonight. Hope to finish it up tomorrow.

You can't use the LCC tvp chassis under the tuber-top, has to be a full tube chassis, or rails with a cage on top. No tvp comp chassis allowed.

If you follow the rules it isn't allowed, but you can use the skid. looks like a good start though.

Yeah sorry, tvp is just to help get everything lines up. It will go away when all the tube is done and just have skid. I have to get all the tabs welded for bolting the shocks and links and stuff onto.

Ok, chopped the TVP down. I left enough for the links and the skid to connect to. Hope that doesn't disqualify it. Then I brazed and bolted it all up. It has a weird lean to it, like it's too heavy. Could use a bit more work. Just not sure what to do.

i believe it is still not class 3 legal, if i am correct it cannot have any tvp at all, has to be all tube or partially frame railed. i am a fan of the bug tho!

Good thing I don't think the club here will be very picky.

From what I see it is legal for C3. I wasn't tryin to bum you out before, just saw the TVP based chassis. What you have now doesn't count as TVP (the mounting plates/strips on the sides), and the wb to body length looks good. Keep going Ryan!

no one was trying to be picky........rules are rules and i'd hate to see all of your time and effort put into the bug and have someone tell you its not legal. thats all.
