The motor side will be interesting. not sure of the best way do you have a motor that you can bolt up? and get a top down shot?

The motor is going to hang way out there. Might need to make a styrene panel that bends out around the motor. Watch for an Axial tranny on ebay. They go for like $50. It would stuff right in and keep that motor inside.

Just shift your trans to the side and bring the motor in a bit. It doesn't have to be in line with the driveshafts. They can be at an angle from the side. Then just bend a piece of lexan/styrene around the motor. Check out my Smurf build for ideas on hanging a motor out. If you decide on an Axial trans later, all you need is a new skid plate. You could even switch to a MOA one day. Just keep building and upgrading. It's what most of us do.

    Just some more work...

    Hey guys,

Think i had a good night, i was building my course in my basement, alot left to go. I started working on the crawler and got it to a running status.

    Some things i did tonight:

Ground down the one side of the motorplate:

Mounted some electronics and mounted the battery in the front:

Took it down on the rocks, did some crawling, and some climbing:

    Here it is climbing:

So the verdict, i didn't get hung up anywhere, stock motor sucks, and so does the stock servo, other than that i like it. Now just needs some tinkering, suspension wise.

looks good. By the way the tinkering never stops. Right after I say I am through with one, I make a huge change.

Looks good, if you get the time making a clocked motor plate or even clocking the stock plate may put the motor inboard

It looks like, unless you went all the way in, you would need a redesign on one side of your skid plate. Best I can tell from the pics the motor is up tight against the plate as is. Might be worth dealing with it for now and planning on some sort of change in the future. Unless you wanted to do some more cutting. I would just melt a piece of lexan/styrene around it and move on.

I have a rustler/pede/slash tranny i'm working on, so that will put everything inside, i will make a new skid plate when the tranny is done, then i will put the body panels on. For now just gonna run it as is.
