So I decided to not run a body. I ordered a sheet of black delrin today. Should be here tomorrow. The plan is to make a topper for the stock chassis. I already have the delrin rod for the cross braces and all the hardware.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Are you keeping the XR10 chassis?

so i got the moonbuggy chassis in the mail the other day. its all black delrin except the spacers. they are white delrin...ugh, poor form..so i hopped on the lathe and spun new ones out of black delrin. i also spun some new cross members for the top of the chassis.

    some drilling

    the cut off

    and the final product

i also played around with the links. i made some new uppers for the rear, and used the old rear uppers on the lowers as they are bent, which will give me more clearance. though, they will come off and i will machine them from thicker delrin.

dont mind the front links. i'm still playing with those. gotta spin new uppers. and figure out the angle for the front lowers. anyway, here's how it's sitting now..

I got a set of the t1e high clearance links on their way for this. Super cheap, so I couldn't pass it up. Also gonna start the skid tonight.

got the high clearance links installed. also crammed the elecs in there too just to see if she runs. (and she does) dont mind the rats nest. that has to be all re-done.
i still need to get a set of 3.5'' shocks. the stock ones from the xr kit are too tall. and they leak.

i got a set of scx shocks for this rig a couple of weeks ago. (thanks suby!))just what it needed. i also made my panels so i'm legal to run. if i ever get off my lazy butt, i need to measure the front lowers and get the dimensions to turbofest so he can make me some custom bent lowers. i kept the same color scheme as the hardline body that i painted, flouresent orange and white. hey, i still had paint left lol... anyway, the pics...

Looks great, one thing that might help flip the servo and make a new link. You will have more of a mechanical advantage that way and the arm for the servo will not get caught up as much. Also turn the Sedonas around you will find that they hook up much better the other direction.
