I was looking at the heavy duty hitechs. Little less the $100 but still like 250 oz or something crazy. Min reccomended for comp crawler is 200 and I am running a 150

    Re: Losi Comp Crawler

Ok. I got some stuff in the mail today. I got almost enough stuff to build another crawler. Minus axles and transmission. I got the losi CCR shock mounts, battery trays, screw kits, and some other misc bits that were missing from mine. This will lower my CoG and allow for some more shock options. Hopefully it will help my lousy driving.

    Re: Losi Comp Crawler

This rig started out originally as a Losi Night Crawler. I bought it off a Rich along with an extra CCR chassis with dig tranny.

I recently got some more parts off eBay with which I wanted to finally make this thing into a full CCR. Rik made me some custom links. I switched from the stock Losi electronics to a Goat 3S with 21.5t brushless motor. Got me some much better wheel speed, reduced my heat, and made this thing a lot more capable. I also chopped the heck out of the body so that the tires wouldn't rub. I hope to afford a DMG ALT top for it.

If you look you can see my unique servo hook up for the dig. I had to hang it off the back of the chopped receiver tray. I was having a hard time finding the servo mounts that are supposed to be on top of tranny. It works, just sort of ghetto.

I reduced some of the flex since I felt that it was over flexing leading to my poor comp score last time around.

Thanks for looking. As always more pix and vids are up at http://www.thenewidea.biz/rc

BTW - This was copied and pasted that's why it looks a little goofy. Didn't feel like typing it twice. I just updated it a bit for this site.

    Re: Losi Comp Crawler

I was able to hugely drop the COG with the new parts. The links Rik made me make it slide better. I am happy with how it sits and the reduced flex. Hopefully I can make it to a comp here in Missouri and see how I do against them.
