With the way things are looking for crawlers with Losi do you want to go in together on some of the parts that wear out quickly?? Ring and Pinion in the axle is the first thing that comes to mind.

yea, that sounds good. i was doing some more reading on that whole issue. they are definitely getting out of crawling. isnt there a mod using traxxas ring and pinions? hopefully, the aftermarket vendors don't give up on these rigs.

Traxxas pinion is an overdrive mod for the front. It is only 1 tooth more but it makes a difference. The thing that I have gone through the most is the ring and pinion. I'll get prices and post them up.

so in the spirit of everyone making there own toppers, chassis', ect. i decided to give it a shot. i'm not gonna lie, i bookmarked rich's thread and pretty much went off of that. the topper is made from 1/8'' delrin, and the cross braces are 1/4'' delrin. its nice and light. it comes in at 6.875" long x 1.3" tall x 2.5" wide. still have to make panels. i might go with the pepsi theme like it's lil brother anyway, this is my first time making a bodiless chassis/topper, so take it easy on me lol....onto the pics...

oh, and thanks rich for hanging out after the micro circus and helping me out on the design and showing me how toppers work...much appreciated

just did one more mod. i centered the servo. what a difference that made. now i have full throw in both directions. i used a RC4WD servo guard/bracket. (rich called it a guard, i called it a bracket, so i duuno wtf it is lol) i used the stock mrc pro servo plate. i drilled the servo guard and tapped for M3 screws. the bracket/guard is bolted on from the bottom of the stock plate. then i trimmed the sides of the stock plate. the uppers are still in the stock location with no interference from the screw heads. the stock arms are still being used. what a difference. very pleased with what i got done tonight.

this is the bracket/guard in question. i scored 2 of these off of dirty. thanks again dirty.

    all centered up
