That most likely won't happen. I ordered the ota and dig kits from rc bros Friday night....they just shipped them today. Safe to say I am not happy with their service. I could have just cnc'd the friggin dig plate myself by now.. and let's face it, its pointless comping a rig with no dig....oh well, a day in the life of...

well i got my stuff in from rcbros tonight and after modding the parts i purchased they are on. the dig servo mount was .035" too wide and the ota link had a stripped hole where the steering link attaches. a belt sander took care of the mount. and a heli-coil took care of the ota link. no biggie on the mount, i guess. but what really has me ticked off is the ota link. let me ask all of you who read this a question. how many of you have heli-coil's, a heli-coil inserter, and the heli-coil punch in your tool boxes??? i'm gonna go out on a limb and say no one does. so not only did they send me a dead tracking number on monday, but if i didnt have the heli-coils, i would have had to send the ota link right back and wait another week for a replacement. they only reason i didnt send it back was the price. i think its $14 for the link. i got what i paid for and am trying to make the best of it i guess...

ok so thats my rant for the month...sorry.

anyway we will see how it hold up to some abuse. headin to my fathers house in the poconos where there is no shortage of rocks. gonna do some testing...

    it does look sexy tho..

now im headed off to order some new tranny gears as i can not stand the metal gears i have, and some sedona's as jslick suggested. maybe a new body, cuz this one is ugly. i always get stuck with the ugly bodies.

stinks about the OTA, check to see which dig mount you got, there are two styles one for the 225 and one for the MX something. there is a slight difference in them. how are you running your dig?? I used the losi dig hardware and hooked it up that way with a standard alum. servo horn. You know you can always flip the servo and run it to the other holes on the other side. Also get a good servo horn for the OTA, what servo are you running now??

Yea it is what it is. I have the mount for the 225. I didn't receive any of the dig hardware other than the ball stud.on the tranny. I using ball cups from a grasshopper. LOL.. it works. As for the steering servo I'm running a 236 oz. knock off brand. It does ok. But the servo horn does stink. I can't afford to drop $150 of so on a servo. Been keeping.g my eye on RCCrawler for a used one. Its crazy that a $150 dollar servo is needed for a $180 rig.. nature of the beast I guess. Tho, last night I ordered a set of sedonas, and new tranny gears. I was also looking at buying another fan to cool the motor down some... Heading to the poconos today to finally drive this thing on some rocks.

Not gonna make it. I'm waiting on tranny gears and some pinions. Gonna or order a set off hd worms tonight too. When I ripped the axles apart last night to remove some of the grease I found that there is a chip in the spool on the front axle. I missed it on the first tear down. I did run it today. The motor ran way cooler. I gotta figure out a way to better locate my elecs and take some weight off the top too.

got the sedona's in. these are very nice tires. i also, got the stock tranny gears in also. they are much quieter than the metal ones. though, i noticed the rear dig was a little delayed tonight while out running it. i think the dig plate is sticking to the shaft a little, and not just sliding right away like the front one does. the more i run this rig, the more i like it. it is very capable. i notice that i am driving at more precise speeds thru/over an obstacle with this rig. i still gotta figure out how/when to use the front dig.

well a sad update. the LCC is dead. this rig finally seen some real rocks yesterday. it did not fare well. had it on the rocks for maybe five minutes. then the throttle started glitching. checked the pack and it was fine. (thinking it may be the lipo cutoff) new battery, same thing. had it sitting on my lap trying to look at what could be wrong, then, poof. the power cap caught on fire. and i mean it was a nice big flame. luckily, i was able to disconnect the battery quick enough. just tried a new cap and the same thing. though, i didnt let this one catch fire. i just cant understand what could have happened. been running the rig with no problems at all, and have done no electronic work to it. gonna call novak and see what they say. if is not too much, i'll ship it to get it fixed. it not, i guess i'll just part the rig out and sell it off. i have to much i want to do to my home to be spilling $200 + dollars into this rig. oh well, a day in the life of....

**edit** well i just called. they want $115 plus shipping both ways for a refurbished system..not gonna happen. the lady on the phone told me that i may want to think about what system i need. i told her, yea, you're right, i need a castle creations. she didnt find it funny... so there may be a "i want out" sale on the horizon. the realty of it is that i just dont get out enough to be throwing cash at these rigs constantly. in the past month i have dropped around $300 on this hobby...
