What is everyone using to clean their tires? I usually use a scrub brush and a mild dish detergent. I just cleaned a set and am wondering if there is a better way.

I clean my tires with simple green, either diluted or straight up. Then give them a good scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush and rinse. I just did my Leopards today that I clapped and siped.

With two hands. ;)

Just a fancy name for shaving them by removing excess rubber.

I hear you can go blind from "clapping your tire to much"

Now here is a "clapped out" tire

I was thinking about rinsing them off, then using the dishwasher. I've used a dishwasher in the past to clean axle cases and stuff like that. They come out very clean.

simple green or purple power straight up scrub and let dry. they will get nice and tacky. used this same thing for the racing tires and it helped with grip.
if you take the tire after its dry and put in a bag it will stay nice until its time to use them. thats why they made the mud course at motorama 2 years ago.
