Putting together a 1.9 and collecting parts for a 2.2 moa. I know which direction I am heading with both rigs but want to go with the smallest batteries possible. So what capacity is needed to make it through the courses you guys having been coming up with?

I use one battery for each course. for the MRC I have been using a 65c 2sThunderpower 325mAh and for the 2.2 XR10 I have been using the 65C 3s 850mAh Thunderpower. I really like the punch that the 65C gives in comparison to the lower C lipos.

Thanks J any reason you go with a 2s on the MRC?

Because a 3s is crazy fast. The 2s is smaller and lighter with plenty of power. I run the same.

I like the 3s on my mrc only for wheel speed to right my self when on my lid and helps to have some things its really a personal driving style choice u should try both and see what works for u

10-4, I always like more speed myself, just because you have it doesn't mean you have to use it. Can't believe you can actually put the 65c rating on these little trucks to use. I didn't think those little motors and ESCs would pull that kind of power.

I use the same as john 2s on my 1.9 and 3s on my 2.2. Just make sure the ESC you get for your 2.2 is rated for 3 cell. I have played around with a bunch of packs and the 3s 30c 850mah and the 2s 25c 350mah trunigy pacs from hobby king worked good and are cheap. Hobby King has USA warehouses now also so you get them pretty quick just make sure you buy the battery with the little american flag next to it. I have paid for maxamps and thunder power batteries I personal can tell a difference.

Thanks guys, I'm leaning towards the 2s on the MRC only because I can't gear it as low as I would like. There isn't enough adjustment in the motor plate.

What it looks like is I have to go with a smaller motor to get a smaller pinion on no matter what. Or a larger spur gear. The problem with the spur is much bigger and it'll be hitting the front driveshaft. Stupid .5 mod gears make choices of things very limited anyway. I'll see if its worth doing major mods in time.

I had to Dremel the center hole in the motor plate to fit a 10T pinion on mine, not sure if you can make a smaller one fit, but a 10T fits

Anything smaller than 15t and I can't get proper mesh, I have a 380 motor and ran out of adjustment due to can size. I would have to go with a larger spur to go with a smaller pinion. Or drop a motor size.
