Was there a scale comp last year? Or was it only open to those who comp'd 1.9 and/or 2.2?

new info regarding crawling at 2012 motorama (no more nitro)

http://www.rctech.net/forum/racing-forum/550943-2012-motorama-rc-racing-hosted-scotty-ernst.html

"""We will be running 2 Electric tracks. The main 1/10th track which in the past was in the area with many poles in the inside of the track, it will be moved to a much larger and free standing area. This area will be the area where the Nitro pits were housed last year. This area is very large and and will make for a far better area for building the track and holding the 1/10 portion of the RC and again it has NO POLES! Some post on here were worried that changes would mean different dirt, but I am happy to let everyone know that we will still be using the same clay that we have used in the past.

The second track will be built in the arena area where the Nitro track was in the past. This track will be used for 1/8th Electric buggies, 1/8th Truggies and 4wd Short Course racing. Now with the spectator seating in the arena and spectators actually being able to sit in the arena and enjoy the spectacle of 1/8th racing. This will make for a fantastic combination of racing.

Also housed in the arena will be the Rock Crawling area as well as the RC Pits for both tracks. What the MR organizers are trying to do is make 1 key area for the RC portion of the MR. Now if we look at this from a exhibition side of RC. With not having nitro going in the arena, the doors to the main spectator walkway can now be left open and welcome thousands and thousands of spectators into our world of racing. This will ad another great aspect to the RC side of MR. Trust me, if you are on the drivers stand racing and now you have hundreds of people watching and cheering on the race, it ads a whole new level and feeling to our hobby. Now we have the chance to make this happen.""

since crawling will be moved to Arena (more space) hopefully this means more rocks.

that will be a big change from the other years. Should be interesting. I hope that there is not dirt everywhere.

Yea, last year they let John Q. Public pay a buck and beat the snot out of Rckcrwl's dingo. It wasnt a problem to walk into the gate with scaler in hand no matter who you were. This year things may differ seeing as were in the horse arena. IIRC, the viewing area and bleachers used the upstairs entrance and were seperated by a fence/rail. No clue how they may play it out this year.

If I go, Im running all 3 classes; but thats $180 JUST in comp fees. Add in hotel, food, etc, etc, etc.....

If you are going and have not gotten a room yet you should look into it soon. Link to the hotel is listed on the 2012 Motorama page on RCC. There is also a great place to eat called the Glass Lounge right down the street.
