Hull is being built by the one and only Tiqueman!
FC Daytona Hull (FG)
Carbon Fiber reinforcement
T-180 ESC
Leopard 4074 2200kV
Running on 4s to start (will try 5s or 6s setups next year)

FC 3/16" Strut
FC 115mm Rudder (offset) mounted to transom
.187" Flex
Water cooled carbon fiber motor mount
Carbon fiber battery trays

Goal is to be consistent 50-60mph range.

Haven't decided on paint yet. Thinking either a Ford GT theme or Kevin Harvick Budweiser NASCAR theme...

The 4s setup will probably be pretty temporary, it's just what I have now. I would like to try a 1800kV setup on 5s so I can at least use half of my batteries lol.

The Ford GT theme is getting a lot of feedback, may have to go that direction. I guess there's already enough Bud boats lol.
I have 4 color choices in mind....

blue/white (maybe even silver)

Got the boat today! Let me tell you, Scott's work is truly amazing.
I got everything done tonight that I could. Just waiting on the mailman for the motor mount hardware, hopefully that comes in tomorrow. I also need an m2 screw/nut for the servo, I'll pick one up at the LHS tomorrow. I also threw some temporary decals on the hull so it has a little visual appeal (asides from the beautiful hull shape).
Once I get the hardware I need, I can mount the motor, cut the flex, and get the servo dialed in. Then she'll be ready for the maiden run!

Well I was able to get out twice last weekend.

Saturday: Was there for an hour and 45 minutes and only went through 1 set of batteries. I could only do 2 passes before the flex started screaming and moaning. Pulled in, greased, 2 passes, and repeat. Went home and did a little snooping around, turns out the motor/flex alignment was off. Used a drill bit in the stuffing tube to check it, ended up bending it a little to align it because the motor mount was maxed.

Sunday: Was a little nervous but was excited to see if I fixed the issue. Long story short...... Ran 4 sets of battery packs, 2 props, and spent an hour and 15 minutes grinning ear to ear!

Boat is freakin amazing. I was really impressed with the 42mm prop's performance. Everything was as cool as a cucumber so I stuck the 45mm in her. The bigger prop REALLY woke the boat up. Used 3 packs with the 45mm and the heat couldn't have been over 85-90*F on any of the components. No GPS reading but my dad and I both said 50mph, which is right where I want to be. I only have 3.75* of timing in it, so there might be a little speed left with the timing. The strut was level with the ride pads and I think I could even move the batteries back another 1/2".

Boat ran really strong. No wawa, launches itself clean out of the water on a hard launch, corners better than expected, etc etc....
I'm happy! Scott, thank you very much!

No pictures running due to problems on Saturday and having such a good time running on Sunday. But I did snap a few pics of it in the drink before we left....

Color and 1/2 the decals are done. It's not exactly shiny because I wet sanded with 1200 before putting the decals on. Still waiting on a window and a few small FC logos from Ben. I have the hatch and turbine decals from Jeff that will go on as well. Not sure if I will bring this back to school to finish or just wait untill Xmas break (Dec 16) to finish. I'm leaning towards just waiting because I'll be pretty busy the next 3 weeks.

I've been having mixed feelings about the Turbine Marine Inc decal being silver on silver. So I had an idea to use it as a stencil and use some True Blue Pearl lacquer and hand paint slashes over it. Here's what I came up with:

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y253/NovaMan69/IMG_0323-2.jpg

Tomorrow I will go over it and remove the remaining decal adhesive and lightly wet sand it.

I also added 2 tiny decals on the bow and stern... Honor, Guts, Glory

I had to shoot the boat myself and getting those colors in a spray can was the issue. Nobody made a color that was close in Lacquer. I was trying to get my Grandad to do it because he just finished a 50's Jag, but already started another project (60's Healey I think).

Yea she gets up on plane at about 1/2 throttle but doesn't settle back in the water untill 1/4 throttle. On plane, only the bottom of the ride pads are in the water (body line right below the Geico decal). At speed she lifts even more, it's pretty cool to see. The only part of the boat in the water are the tips of the 2 further back ride pads (hull has 3 stepped pads) and half of the prop (only 1 blade is in the water). The whole thing basically skims the water surface at speed.
