***EPARCC 2010 Rules Committee***

EPARCC will have 7-8 active members that will work as a team on a committee to discuss and come to a decision on competition rules for the Scale Class and Comp. Crawler. In this forum questions and concerns are discussed by the committee and then voted on (using our voting procedure from the by-laws), as well as ideas on how to make things better for the club.

COMMITTEE:

John (Quirk)

Wes (brazwewn)

CONSULTANT:

Dave (Marzzz23)

Do I need to take the rules test even though I don't go to comp crawler events, only scale?

I think you should be knowledgeable about them and the scale rules. The test would not be a bad idea.

Ill take the test when I get home. Doesn't like to work on phone.

There is one rule for scalers I'm. Not liking. Don't don't if this is where to post rules to talk about.

The rule for class 2(I think 1 also) about the vehicals body needing to be 3 inches long the the wheel base. That may be hard for some of us to do with the bodys we use. I know the rig I'm getting ready to build for scale comps the body is only gonna be mabie 2 inches longer then the wheel base.

So mabie we could not use or modify this rule.

That rule is to prevent class 1 and 2 rigs from climbing up a 90* vertical wall. It basically means your tires cant extend past the front/rear bumpers.

Well would frame mounted bumpers count for the body? Id hate to not be able to use the body I have. Well ill have to check out the tires I plan to use I might just make it idk

Well wait if I'm trying to build a scale humvee then it crawling up 90* vertical walls would work cause a real H1 can do it. Haha. I'm planning to build it as scale as possible so they won't stick out much at all. Mabie ill have buy another body to work with

Bumpers are counted in the length.

For an H1, the rear end has an over hang. So as long as you make up what's lost in the front back there, you're ok.

Remember, Class 3 has no restrictions with that stuff. So even if you make a rig that you build to be in Class 1 or 2 and it fails one of the criteria, you can run in class 3 still...

Duh I wasn't. Think class 3. Well ill build it and see what it turns out as haha. Still gonna try and get to a class 2 but who knows. I get the rason for the rule. Well least we got our first discussion about a rule. We on a roll now haha

So for the few that have short bodys its class 3 then

No test yet because the actual "driving" rules haven't been created yet. We will need to come up with a tech sheet, Rob from SVSC just made theirs. I'll post on RCC and ask when the "driving" rules will be finished.

Got word from War Pig on RCC that the rules will be posted in the next day or two

Will there be a minimum amount of scale points needed to comp?

PontiacGT201

30 points if I remember right. And you only get 1 point for a type of item. Say you have 3 fuel cans you only get a point for one of them

Isn't a mandatory 30 scale points a bit excessive?

I have compiled the SORRCA rules into a Word document. The EPARCC addenda have been added into this document. I need to figure out a way to store our documents. Maybe Tin will have a good idea. The document was sent to Gimp an Jslick, since that was the only emails I have handy. PM me with email if you want to see the document.

The 1st drafts of Tech in and score sheets are finished. Sent them over to Wes for another set of eyes to check them over. Hopefully we'll have the official release in the next day or two.

still think there should be a scale point cap, even the playing field a bit.

The scale points are cut in half from whatever you get and applied per course. That was an attempt to try and even things up.

Scale Comp:

Rollover +5 not the same as a touch +10

From what I have read and have seen for comments the 2012 Scale Rules should be ok for us. Obviously we will keep our club specific addendums though. My plan is to spend some time updating the site and purging old threads. I will also update the Word document and store it to our club Documents site. If there are questions or concerns feel free to speak up.

Sounds like a plan I'll get on that also later today after class.
